Every morning we looked across the valley at a tranquil village with old traditional stone houses scattered across the hill. Amongst them stood an old, abandoned house. Roof broken, windows gone, overgrown with plants — and yet majestic, serene, elegant and classy.

Six years of renovation later, the house has arrived in its second youth. We called it Il Risveglio — the awakening — because of the invigorating power we felt emanating from this place from the very first day.
